Navigating the tide of change: The Sapphire Project's voyage for ocean conservation
The Sapphire Project, a luminary beacon in the quest for sustainability and ocean conservation, stands at the forefront of this critical mission. Inspired by the pioneering spirit of Susan Rockefeller, our initiative weaves the Australian narrative into a global movement, championing the cause of our oceans with unwavering dedication and visionary leadership.

The Sapphire Project is more than a conservation effort; it's a rallying cry for action and a platform for transformative change. Our mission extends beyond the conservation of our waters; it encompasses the inspiration of communities, the celebration of leadership in sustainable innovation, and the mobilization of resources towards a blue future. Through events like the Sapphire Dinner, we aim to galvanize philanthropic momentum, drawing on the legacy of international gatherings that have united influencers, visionaries, and conservationists in a shared commitment to our oceans' well-being.

We envision a world where our oceans are revered and safeguarded for their invaluable contribution to our planet's ecological balance, cultural heritage, and future prosperity. The Sapphire Project serves as a beacon of hope and action, uniting individuals, communities, and organisations in a common purpose: to love, protect, and revitalise our marine ecosystems. This vision is the compass guiding our initiatives, shaping our partnerships, and defining our impact.
-
At the heart of the Sapphire Project are core values that reflect our deep respect for the ocean and our dedication to its preservation. We celebrate innovation, integrity, and impact in ocean conservation, aligning ourselves with partners who share our commitment to environmental stewardship. Our committee, ambassadors and volunteers are the voice of the ocean's story, passionately advocating for sustainable futures and inspiring communities to join the wave of change.

Our approach is multifaceted, focusing on raising awareness, fostering philanthropic support, and facilitating impactful action. By hosting major events like the gala to celebrate the United Nations World Ocean Day, we bridge connections between donors and conservation efforts, creating a sea of change in sustainability. Our team’s dedication extends to nurturing a diverse volunteer base, leveraging the influence of committee, ambassadors, and ensuring the transparency and integrity of our operations and partnerships.

The Sapphire Project does not receive any funds from ticket sales or donations. The Great Barrier Reef Foundation (ABN 82 090 616 443) is partnered with The Sapphire Project as our partner to administer and distribute raised funds including ticket sales, donations and charity proceeds to the recipient ocean organisations as nominated by the Sapphire committee with no administration fee, and independently checked. All supported organisations are registered charities (DGR1) in Australia and are eligible to receive tax-deductible donations. The Foundation issues tax-deductible receipts for all donations for donors from Australia (DGR1 Status), Singapore, and the USA (501(c)3 Status), according to the donor's region. Thanks to our generous sponsors who are making our work possible, ensuring that 100% of every ticket sold and every dollar raised go directly into impactful ocean conservation.
