What we carry forward matters more than what we accumulate

  • I work at the intersection of legacy, stewardship and the human side of influence, exploring how people with responsibility, resources, and reach navigate meaning, identity, and long-term impact in a rapidly changing world.

This site reflects a personal journey shaped by movement, uncertainty, learning and quiet recalibration. Over time, I’ve come to understand that what matters most is not simply what we build or achieve, but how we move through the world, who we choose to walk alongside, and what we leave behind, consciously or otherwise.

Like most people, I’ve learned through experience rather than certainty. Mistakes, shifts, and moments of disorientation were not detours, but teachers - gradually shaping resilience, perspective and a deeper sense of responsibility.

At the centre of my work is a belief in deeper connection: between people, generations, cultures, and causes - and in the importance of acting with care, intention, and long-term view.

  • Born in Beijing in the 1980s, I grew up in a household shaped by tradition, family stories, and an unspoken resilience carried across generations. Early on, I became aware of the quiet weight of history - how it informs identity, values and the way we understand continuity.

Those foundations continue to influence how I think about legacy today: not as inheritance alone, but as stewardship.

  • As a teenager, I was sent alone to Sydney, a transition that was both expansive and confronting. Without familiar structures, education came less from classrooms and more from lived experience: learning to adapt, to take risks, and to navigate uncertainty with limited guidance.

That period marked the beginning of reinvention - where mistakes became mirrors, and self-reliance was forged through necessity rather than choice.

  • Although I formally trained in accounting, my instinct was always creative. I was drawn to building — ideas, narratives, and platforms that could move people.

I founded a brand strategy agency and spent more than a decade working with organisations to shape identity, voice, and long-term positioning. That work sharpened my understanding of influence — not just how it is projected, but how it is sustained.

  • Over time, my focus shifted from brands to people, particularly questions of continuity, responsibility, and generational transition.

This led me into family office advisory, philanthropy, and next-generation development, where the work is less visible but often more consequential. Here, the emphasis is on alignment: values before structure, purpose before scale, and trust built slowly over time.

  • My journey into ocean conservation was deeply shaped by my mentor, Susan Rockefeller, whose guidance over nearly a decade has been instrumental in shaping the purpose and enlightenment I have found today.

Through Susan and David Rockefeller, I came to appreciate their mantra: “Protect What Is Precious” - not as a slogan, but as a way of moving through the world.

This perspective led to the creation of The Sapphire Project, founded with a close group of friends and partners. In collaboration with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, and supported by organisations including LVMH (Tiffany & Co., Moët & Hennessy) and Ximi, Sapphire is dedicated to raising awareness and critical funding for ocean conservation — guided by collective care rather than visibility.

  • Art, in all its forms, has been a constant source of inspiration. It has the power to move, to challenge, and to transcend borders - connecting people across cultures and generations. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to this space through various roles: as a board member of The Australian Ballet Ambassador Board, a director for Art Month, and a council member of VisAsia at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Today, I continue this passion as the International Ambassador of the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, advocating for cultural exchange. I also proudly support LACMA in Los Angeles and the Brooklyn Museum in New York.

As a Chinese-Australian, I believe cultural heritage is not something to preserve passively - but to engage with actively - allowing it to remain relevant, lived and shared.

  • There were moments when progress felt unclear - shaped by solitude, change, and unanswered questions. In hindsight, those periods were less about being left behind, and more about learning to slow down, listen, and recognise the current beneath the surface.

From arriving in Australia as a young teenager, to building creative enterprises, and later working in conservation, philanthropy, and cultural exchange, each phase carried its own lessons. Together, they’ve clarified a quieter purpose: to contribute thoughtfully, to steward rather than accumulate, and to move forward with care.

If these reflections resonate, I’m always open to considered conversation, grounded in respect, curiosity, and a shared sense of responsibility for what comes next.

Thank you for visiting my site.
